Outdoor images in the late fall / winter...

Sometimes outdoor photographers just put their cameras down in the late fall and winter because the leaves are gone and the landscape appears barren and uninteresting. But I think just the opposite is the case. In winter, you get to see all of the textures and patterns in nature. And it provides a perfect environment to capture some interesting black and white renderings of the world around you. Here are a few images that I’ve taken outdoors this winter (no snow, sorry)…

Chilly, Rainy Day in the Backyard ;-)

Today was a chilly, rainy day here, so I spent some time capturing images of the little creature in the backyard.. Here are a few images for your viewing pleasure! Please enjoy!

Vox Serene In The Studio

In July 2020, I had the pleasure of working with Vox Serene in the studio again. We took this opportunity to capture some moody, high-contrast type glamour images. You can see all of the posted images in the Glamour section of this web site (available through the menu). Enjoy!

Smoke... Endless Variety..

If you have never taken the opportunity to capture some images of smoke, you should try it. It is an endless source of amazing shapes, textures, and movement.. Here are a few images that I shot today. Enjoy!

It's been a while since I posted anything...

Well it’s been a while since I posted anything… This “stay at home” stuff has put quite a lot or pressure on being able to get out and take pictures ;-) But today's photos are a little bit different. As I walked out the front door this afternoon, I found this little guy sitting on the corner of our front porch (searching for a warn spot I'm guessing). So, or course, I went back inside and grabbed a camera to capture these images. And for a while, the little toad put up with my picture taking, then he decided that he liked hiding in the grass better. This particular toad was only about two inches (five centimeters) from head to tail, but he had big eyes ;-). Enjoy the photos...

Light Painting

I’ve been working on my light painting skills lately.. It is one element of creative photography that is difficult to replicate in post processing… Here are a few “still life” images from my initial set. Stay tuned for some additional light painting images!

Soap Bubbles

Yesterday, I spent some time capturing images of soap bubbles - - one of my favorite activities. Soap bubbles provide an endless supply of color and textures to tease the imagination. Here are a few images. Enjoy!

What if we didn't light up the night?

For all of those people who believe that it is the mission of humans to "light up the night" - - can you imagine how beautiful the world would be if all of the man-made lights went off - - just for one night.. This is how I imagine the view from Aruba's North Shore - where you can find many amazing rock formations - would be if we would just turn off the lights ;-) I'm just saying . . .

Visit to Aruba January 2020

One of the attractions for me in Aruba is the arid climate and unique landscapes on the unpopulated part of the island... cactus guiding you to the ocean, shoreline adorned with volcanic rock, and other amazing and interesting scenes..

Iguanas - Aruba 2020

After a few minutes of convincing the Aruba iguanas that we are friends (clean fresh lettuce helps), they are happy to pose for some intimate photos for you!!
